Subsea Solutions Brazil to present at IADC Deepwater Drilling Conference
Maximizing Equipment Reliability and the Importance of Training and Competency Verification for Well Control & Drill-through Equipment Maintenance Personnel
Subsea Solutions Brazil is set to present at the 2016 IADC Deepwater Drilling Conference in March. “Maximizing Equipment Reliability and the Importance of Training and Competency Verification for Well Control & Drill-through Equipment Maintenance Personnel” will be presented to industry attendees March 15th at 3:30 PM in Rio de Janeiro.
Despite various attempts over the years by the drilling industry to improve subsea drilling and well control equipment uptime, the fact remains that the inherent reliability of this equipment is often compromised by ineffective maintenance resulting in revenue loss and non-productive time. There have been several BOP reliability studies over the years all identifying the control system and the BOP stack as contributing the most to poor reliability, yet these are the same areas we concentrate most of our efforts on during between-wells maintenance periods. So why do we continue to see poor reliability levels?
Could it be that we are not planning or targeting our maintenance correctly? Is there an issue with personnel skills sets or lack thereof? Are our people sufficiently trained and competent? Could there be inadequate checks or verification of the work carried out? Are there issues with the equipment itself? Do we fully investigate failures to find the real root causes and take actions to ensure there are no repetitions? Do we make the best use of modern maintenance methods and the latest technologies?
This presentation will take a look at these and other issues and will present some solutions that will help to improve system reliability. Examples of 3D printed models used in our training programs will be on display. Stop by for more information.
