Subsea Solutions provides Well-Control Equipment Training to BSEE
Subsea Solutions provided the first in a monthly series of training classes to the BSEE.
Twelve U.S. Government Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) inspectors and engineers received training on subsea well-control equipment in our Well-Control Equipment Surveyor Course (Subsea 103).
The training included information on blowout preventers (BOPs), BOP control systems, and all ancillary equipment, such as riser systems, diverter systems, connectors, subsea valves, and motion compensation systems.
This intensive four-day course (Subsea 103) was developed jointly with BSEE, and covered well-control equipment inspection and testing criteria, certification and BOP re-verification requirements, and well-control equipment maintenance procedures and documentation. In addition, Subsea 103 also detailed API awareness and correlation to the BSEE CFRs.
Subsea 103 was designed to acquaint BSEE personnel tasked with the inspection of deepwater drilling rigs with the necessary tools to ensure that these crucial subsea safety components are functioning properly.
Subsea Solutions already provides well-control equipment familiarization training (Subsea 100 and Subsea 101) to operators and drilling contractors, both at its Houston training center and at our customers’s facilities.
Subsea Solutions also recently released a new MUX BOP Control Systems training course (Subsea 102), which includes a full-sized touchscreen simulator with hands-on student interaction.
Training at our Houston center is provided using three-dimensional computer-generated images and animations projected onto a 20' wide Cyviz Bizwall rear-projection screen. Physical scale cut-away models of the equipment further enhance the student’s learning experience.
Additional course offerings, such as schematic reading, subsea math, and other well-control equipment classes, are in development and will be available shortly, so look for them.
